Folk groups
They passionately embody the living heritage of Alsatian culture, through traditional costumes and spellbinding dances.
Rooted in a rich and colourful history, these groups preserve and, above all, celebrate the region’s ancestral traditions.
The Alsatian costume, emblematic for its embroidered motifs and bright colours, is much more than a simple garment: it is the symbol of a collective identity, handed down from generation to generation. Women stand out with their headdress and long coloured skirt. Men dance in black hats and red jackets.
Alsatian folk dances are set to the lively melodies of the band accompanying the dancers.
Through their performances at local festivities and events, folk groups perpetuate the magic and conviviality of Alsatian culture, stirring the hearts of Alsatians with pride and authenticity.
