Laure Krug
Laure Krug was born in 1974 in Strasbourg. Her subject is the woman, the round, full, funny and tender woman. Sometimes a woman child or a woman playing with her femininity, they remain extraordinary creatures playing with codes of decorum and assuming their roundness as well as their colour. In 2000, she started creating resin sculptures. Always unique pieces, her "Pasdame" are sometimes naughty or impertinent. They allow themselves to be and to live without apprehension of the look of others. Everyday life, our sometimes ridiculous or characteristic attitudes are found in his sculptures as original as they are playful. Thus Laure's work, however and paradoxically connoted with amusing lightness, reaches a universal character. At the time of Selfie, in a consumerist society, the Pasdames play the cards of the futile, emotion and derision with a touching accuracy. The visit of her workshop is possible but by appointment only.
