Getting there
Photo Exposition : Du champ à l'assiette

Do you know what the people of the Kochersberg wore at the end of the 19th century? You'll be familiar with the famous black headdress, the red or green skirt protected by an embroidered apron for the lady, and the black pants and red vest for the gentleman, not forgetting the black hat. On Sundays and feast days, this was indeed how people dressed in the Kochersberg.
.
But on weekdays, when cooking, working in the field or in the workshop as a craftsman, how was one dressed?

The "From Field to Plate" exhibition, with scenes inspired by the paintings of Henri Loux, will enable you to discover halettes, dresses, aprons, clogs and other garments worn on a daily basis in the countryside. Henri Loux, an Alsatian watercolorist, drew his inspiration from these everyday costumes to decorate the Obernai dinner service, which for decades graced Alsatian Sunday tables.

Tableware and clothing interact to evoke a different era.
